Long before the dog- and action-packed June 21, however, is a more ominous day, arriving on the first of the month. June 1 marks the official start to the Atlantic hurricane season, the beastliest storms of which we've written about before, as at the end of our August 2012 DogBlog. Natural disasters are always terrifying to us, and to our pets, and having a plan in place that includes your four-legged friends is a must. We were reminded of that and of how service dogs like the Australian labradoodles we raise at Aussie Doodle Acres are often called upon for their special talents, just this past month in the aftermath of the devastating tornado that flattened Moore, Oklahoma. We begin this month's DogBlog with that story.
- Would you feed your dog cabbage? Read this!
- Tuna for dogs? What about Salmon? Make this frozen treat for summer!
- What? No time to make your own frozen doggie treats? Check out FreezyPups!!
And we leave you this month with a bit of frivolity for summer. But it's in keeping with what's important to us here at the Acres. In this case, we've found a great puppy product that also does good things for the environment... by reducing waste in a seemingly completely unrelated industry. Click the image at left, and be amazed as we were by what they're doing at Astral, and how your pooch will benefit. The Astrobed is our new favorite product. See you next month!
